Are your Musician Ads working?

Over the past few years we have seen many types of musician ads come in for posting - some good - others not so good.  To get the most from your postings you should make absolutely certain that the ad you post reflects what you are REALLY looking for and NOT the frustration you may be feeling because of the current situation.  Quite often we receive postings that are obvious venting outlets for a particular musician or bands dissatisfaction with a current situation.  This type of ad is less likely to help you find what you are looking for as opposed to having a very professional sounding, factual ad.  If you feel a need to "vent" and go into detail you can always put a link to your website or do it when talking to a prospective new band-mate.

Other things to look out for:

-  Try not to type in all caps or all lower case.  It is more difficult to read text when there are all caps or all lower case.

- Watch your punctuation and spelling. Poor punctuation and spelling makes the ad more difficult to read and shows a lack of attention to detail which is important when playing music.

- Do NOT use curse words or foul language.  We reserve the right to remove this kind of language or to not post the ad at all!  Where it might be "cool" to swear it does not promote a  positive image for your ad.  Some musicians - who otherwise might be perfect for your situation may skip past the ad thinking that there is an attitude problem and not want to deal with that.

- Be careful about the attitude you project in your ad.  If you come off sounding like a jerk, your chances of getting contacted are going to be slim to none.

Good Luck!
